I've been gone too long, new playlist, & several book recommendations
Welcome (back) to the table.
A painting worth viewing:
A poem worth pondering:
Salvation in Kilograms Per Meter Cubed by Riley Morsman
The larger the density, the more stuff there is in a small amount of space. Like the story in the Bible when Jesus pulls a child onto his lap and says, Truly unless you become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. When I look in the mirror, I want to think about shrinking in ways no one else will see. I want to learn how to fit in a soul with no room for boxes in the basement. I want to laugh when bounding grasshoppers evade my grasp again; I want to cry when the darkness scares me. Lord, help me be dense like stones that sink in rivers, like honey pooling at the bottom of my cup. Maybe heaven’s gates don’t open after we sit on brass scales, but when we’ve strung old quilts over the kitchen chairs, dropped down on scabby knees, and crawled.

Music worth listening to (on shuffle):
A quote worth noting:
“The art of not reading is a very important one. It consists in not taking an interest in whatever may be engaging the attention of the general public at any particular time. When some political or ecclesiastical pamphlet, or novel, or poem is making a great commotion, you should remember that he who writes for fools always finds a large public. A precondition for reading good books is not reading bad ones — life is short.”
- Arthur Schopenhauer
Odds & ends:
Books: Since my last post (which was far too long ago), I have read: The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle (4/5 stars - uniquely written murder mystery), The Martian Chronicles (5/5 - stunning prose & thought-provoking), We Solve Murders (5/5 - the hype about Richard Osman is well-deserved; this book was fun), two books in the Marlow Murder Club series (4/5), & Small Things Like These (4/5 - short story but beautifully written)
Currently reading

Wanna-be-chef: I am about to refresh my menu for our household. I’m thinking of making use of quinoa and wraps. Please drop any recipes in the comments section :)
That’s all for now!
All my best,
